Dear Bryant Community,
This fall our Provost search consultant, Chuck O’Boyle, conducted a national search resulting in more than 40 candidates for Bryant’s Provost and Chief Academic Officer position. The search committee has evaluated the candidates in this pool and is now in the process of completing an initial round of confidential interviews on Zoom for our top candidates.
The group of candidates we are meeting with represents highly qualified applicants from diverse backgrounds. The search committee is planning to recommend bringing three (3) or four (4) candidates to campus after these initial interviews so that we may learn more about their unique qualifications and they may learn more about our robust learning community.
We are working to finalize the visit schedules and plan to hold campus visits over the coming weeks. The candidates’ campus visits will consist of a day-and-a-half of meetings with multiple constituencies across our institution. The hiring process for senior academic administration positions necessitates keeping the candidates’ names confidential, so not everyone will have the opportunity to meet these distinguished and highly qualified individuals. The finalists will meet with a representative group of more than 50 people from across the Bryant community including faculty, staff, and students. We will require confidentiality agreements from all parties who meet with the candidates.
This phase of our Provost search is important to the University and exciting for all of us. We look forward to sharing more information next week.
